Conditions and discounts for Interrail Pass holders

Discounted passage with an Interrail Global Pass

As an Interrail Global Pass holder you get a 30% discount on economy class tickets for the Greek domestic routes of Blue Star Ferries.

The discount is available on the condition that you've made a crossing or have already booked a crossing in the Adriatic Sea (Greece- Italy) by one of the Superfast Ferries vessels of the Attica Group, or ANEK Lines. You can prove this by showing the Adriatic Sea maritime ticket (Ancona – Igoumenitsa – Patras or Bari – Igoumenitsa – Patras) to the Blue Star Ferries office. Travellers coming from the Greek islands can get the 30% discount by showing the Adriatic maritime ticket that they are going to use in a few days to go to Italy.

Accommodation upgrades can be arranged by the port offices or the chief purser on board, they are subject to availability. Reservations are compulsory.

Free passage with an Interrail Greek Islands Pass

Holders of an Interrail 5 trips Greek Islands Pass are entitled to 5 free trips on Greek domestic routes. Both 1st and 2nd class passes travel in Economy class. Any additional trips on domestic routes can be made with a 30% discount in Economy class. 

Holders of an Interrail 6 trips Greek Island Pass are entitled to 2 international trips (to and from Italy) and 4 trips on Greek domestic routes. Both 1st and 2nd class passes travel in Economy class. Any additional trips on domestic routes can be made with a 30% discount in Economy class. 

Accommodation upgrades to a Cabin or Seat can be arranged by the port offices or the chief purser on board, they are subject to availability. 

On board facilities

Blue Star Ferries vessels are equipped with facilities and entertainment options such as: an a la carte menu* and self service restaurants, bars, a gift store, satellite payphones and an internet corner. All cabin categories (2, 3 or 4 beds inside/outside) have ergonomic design and spacious interior including shower and toilet. Air craft type seats can be readily turned into comfy reclining surfaces. Particular attention is paid to the cabins designed for travellers with special needs.

Superfast Ferries (Italy - Greece)

Superfast Ferries operates international services between Italy and Greece. There are no international trips included in the Interrail 5 trips Greek Islands Pass. With the Interrail 6 trips Greek Islands Pass, you get:

• Two international crossings between Italy and Greece. The offered routes are:

  • Ancona – *Corfu - Igoumenitsa – Patras

  • Bari – *Corfu – Igoumenitsa – Patras

  • Venice – Corfu – Igoumenitsa - Patras

    *Via Corfu on specific dates during summer season only

• Italy - Greece routes in partnership with Anek Lines
• A free retour transfer by bus and train from Patras to Pireaus port (near Athens).

Blue Star Ferries operates domestic services in Greece. The Interrail 5 trips Greek Islands Pass gets you 5 domestic trips, from island to island. With the Interrail 6 trips Greek Islands Pass there are 4 domestic trips included:

• Four or five FREE domestic trips in economy class to the Greek islands of your choice. Starting point is Pireaus port, near Athens.

• 54 Greek destinations to choose from, including Crete*, Rhodes and Santorini.

• 30% discount on any additional domestic trip (to an island).

• The Crete* routes are jointly operated with Anek Lines.

Travel days and ferries

When traveling by night ferry you have to fill in the day of departure in your travel diary. If you are still on this ferry after midnight, you don't have to use a second travel day, unless you board a second ferry.

Please note that you cannot start your travel before the first day of validity on your pass.
